Privacy Policy

Invoice Tiger is published by Smarter Foundry LLC (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app and this website. The short version: the app keeps your invoicing records on your iPhone, and the website’s free invoice generator works on the invoice you type in your browser. We do not receive or store those invoicing records.
The app does not send us your invoicing records
Invoice Tiger stores your business details, your saved customers, and every invoice and estimate you create in local storage on your device. There is no Invoice Tiger account and no sign-in, and no server of ours holds a copy of those records.
We do run a small amount of server infrastructure, described below, for product analytics and for the referral program. Neither of them receives your invoicing records.
This has a practical consequence worth stating plainly: we cannot view or recover your invoices, estimates, customers, business details, or PDFs. If you lose or replace your device without a backup, we have no copy to restore. The export feature in the app exists so that keeping your own backup is straightforward.
Information that leaves your device
Your invoicing data leaves your iPhone only when you send it:
- Sharing a document. When you share an invoice or estimate, iOS hands the PDF to whichever app or service you pick — mail, messages, files, or another destination. Where it goes from there is governed by that service, not by us.
- Exporting your records. The export writes a file that you control and place wherever you choose.
- Device backups. If you use iCloud Backup or an encrypted computer backup, your app data may be included, under Apple’s terms rather than ours.
Those three are the only ways your invoicing data goes anywhere. Separately from your invoicing data, the app sends limited product analytics, and — if you use the referral program — the limited referral information described below.
App analytics
Invoice Tiger uses Mixpanel to understand how the app is used and which features are actually useful. We send a limited set of product-usage events — the app being opened, a document being created or previewed, a feature being used.
We do not send Mixpanel the contents of your invoices or estimates, your customer information, your business details, your PDFs, payment information, or your name or email address.
Mixpanel uses a pseudonymous identifier so that events from the same installation can be understood together. We do not use this information for advertising, do not combine it with information about you from other companies, and do not use it to identify you. IP-based geolocation is disabled.
You can turn analytics off at any time in Invoice Tiger’s Settings. With analytics off, no new analytics events are sent.
We keep analytics data only as long as it is reasonably necessary to understand how the app is used and to improve Invoice Tiger, and older analytics data may be deleted periodically.
Referral program
Invoice Tiger has a referral program — Give One, Get One — that awards free subscription time when someone you refer subscribes. Running it needs a small server of ours, because a reward earned on one phone has to be recognised on another.
If you participate in the referral program, the app sends limited information to our servers so we can record referrals, verify eligibility, prevent duplicate or fraudulent claims, and award referral rewards.
The app identifies your installation to that server using a randomly generated installation identifier: a random value created on first launch and kept in your device’s Keychain. It is not your name, email, Apple Account, or device ID, and it means nothing outside the referral program — but it does persist, so it lets us recognise the same installation over time.
Alongside that identifier, the referral service stores your referral code, whether you claimed someone else’s code and which one, reward status and expiry, and how many of your referrals have qualified. When a referred installation subscribes, the app also sends the App Store transaction identifier for that purchase.
This only applies if you take part in the referral program. Taking part means generating your referral code, claiming someone else’s, or holding reward state the app needs to keep up to date. If you never use the referral program, the app does not contact the referral service.
We use the transaction identifier to verify the qualifying purchase directly with Apple, which is how we prevent duplicate and fraudulent claims. We do not receive your payment card information, your Apple Account credentials, or your Apple purchase history. The referral system does not send us your invoices, estimates, customers, business details, payment instructions, or PDFs.
Referral information is used only to operate and protect the referral program and to administer rewards that have been earned. It is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not combined with information about you from other companies. We keep it only as long as reasonably necessary to administer rewards, prevent duplicate claims and abuse, resolve support issues, and meet applicable legal or accounting requirements.
Purchases and subscriptions
Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment card details. Apple provides us with aggregated, non-identifying sales and subscription reporting, and may provide anonymized app analytics if you have opted into sharing it with developers in your iOS settings.
One narrow exception, for the referral program only. When a subscription needs to be checked against a referral, we ask Apple about that single transaction to confirm it is a genuine, qualifying purchase. What we get back describes the transaction — the product, when it was bought, and whether it was refunded — and we keep the transaction identifiers so the same purchase cannot be used to claim a reward twice. This tells us nothing about your payment method or anything else you have ever bought.
Invoice Tiger does not process the payments your own customers make to you. Those happen directly between you and your customer, by whatever method you put on the invoice, and we are not party to them.
Web invoice generator
The free invoice generator on this website runs in your browser. The business details, customer information, invoice number and dates, line items, prices, totals, payment instructions, notes, and logo you enter are processed locally on your device to create the PDF. We do not upload or store any of that on our servers, and none of it is included in our analytics.
A logo you add is read and resized in your browser and drawn straight into the PDF. It is not uploaded to us.
The generator does not save the invoice for you. What you type is held in the browser tab while you are using the tool, and it is gone when you refresh or close the page — there is no copy anywhere else, with us or on your device. Downloading and keeping any PDF you want to retain is up to you.
This website
This site uses privacy-conscious product analytics to understand whether the page is doing its job. We record page views, clicks on the download call to action, and which frequently asked questions get opened. IP-based geolocation is disabled, and we do not use your IP address to build a profile about you. We do not build advertising profiles, run ad-network trackers, or sell any of it.
When you use the invoice generator, we also record a small number of product-usage events: that the generator was started, that a line item was added, and that a PDF download succeeded or failed. These carry coarse information about the shape of the document only — whether it had a tax rate, a discount, a deposit, a logo, notes or payment instructions, which kind of discount it was, and roughly how many line items it had. Nothing there is a value you typed.
We do not send analytics the contents of your invoice. Not your business or customer information, addresses, invoice number, line-item descriptions, quantities, rates, prices, totals, payment instructions, notes, or logo.
The analytics library stores a pseudonymous identifier in your browser’s local storage so repeat visits are not counted as new people. Clearing site data removes it. The site sets no advertising cookies.
When you email us
If you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you choose to put in the message. We use it to answer you and keep it only as long as we need for support history. Please do not send us customer records — we do not need them and would rather not hold them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port the personal information a company holds about you, and to object to certain processing. Because the app holds your records on your own device, most of those rights you can exercise directly: the data is already in your possession. Deleting the app removes its locally stored data from that device. Copies contained in backups or exports you have created may remain until you delete those copies separately.
The same is true of the web generator, for a different reason: we never receive what you type into it, so there is no copy of it here to access, correct, return, or delete.
For the limited information we do hold — support correspondence, app analytics, website and generator analytics, and referral and reward records — write to [email protected] and we will action your request. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are used under California law.
Children
Invoice Tiger is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and material changes will be noted in the app or on this site.
