Terms of Use

The Invoice Tiger iPhone app is a tool for creating, managing, and sharing invoices and estimates and producing PDFs of them. The free web invoice generator on this website is a browser-based tool for creating and downloading invoice PDFs.

Invoice Tiger is not accounting software, a bookkeeping system, a payment processor, a merchant account, or a tax filing service, and it does not provide accounting, tax, or legal advice. You are responsible for whether the documents you create — in the app or in the generator — meet the invoicing, tax, and record-keeping requirements that apply to your business, including the tax rates you enter and the terms you put on your documents.

The Invoice TigeriPhone app is distributed through Apple’s App Store and is licensed, not sold. Your use of the app is also subject to Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement and applicable App Store terms.

Any subscription is sold through the App Store and billed by Apple to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through Apple before renewal. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple Account or App Store settings, and refunds are handled by Apple under its applicable policies.

Certain features of the iPhone app require Pro access. Pro access may be provided through an active subscription or through promotional or referral-based access offered by Invoice Tiger. The features included with Pro are described in the app.

This section is about the app. The web invoice generator is free, and needs no subscription and no account.

If Pro access ends, invoices and estimates you have already created remain on your device and remain readable, searchable, shareable, and exportable.

A user may redeem a referral code for 30 days of Pro only once, and only within 7 days after creating their first invoice. If the referred user later begins a paid subscription, the referring user receives 30 days of Pro.

A code cannot be redeemed while a paid subscription is active.

Referral rewards are verified against the App Store purchase itself. A subscription that began before the code was redeemed, and the automatic renewal of an existing subscription, do not earn a reward, and the number of rewards one user can earn in a year is capped. We may withhold referral access, and may change or end the program, if a code is redeemed fraudulently or the program is otherwise abused.

The app stores your data on your device rather than on our servers. Smarter Foundry LLC claims no ownership rights in the invoices, estimates, customer information, business information, or other content you enter or create using Invoice Tiger. We do not keep a server-side copy of your invoicing records and cannot restore them for you. Recovery may be possible from exports or device backups you have created.

Keeping backups is your responsibility. The app’s export function, together with your normal device backups, is the way to do that.

The web invoice generator does not save your invoices for you at all. What you enter is held in your browser while you use the tool and is lost when you refresh or close the page. We do not keep a server-side copy of a generated invoice and cannot recover one once the page is gone — we never had it. Downloading and keeping any PDF you want is up to you.

You agree not to use Invoice Tiger to:

• create fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading invoices or estimates;
• impersonate another business or person, or misrepresent who is billing the customer;
• break any law that applies to you or to your customers; or
• interfere with the operation or security of the app, this website, or the generator.

Invoice Tiger does not collect, hold, route, or process the money your customers pay you, and takes no percentage of it. That is true of the app and of the web generator alike: neither one takes a payment, and neither one tracks whether you have been paid. Payment instructions you place on a document are your own, and any payment arrangement is strictly between you and your customer. We are not responsible for whether, when, or how you get paid.

The app, this website, the web invoice generator, the Invoice Tiger name and branding, the software, and other Smarter Foundry LLC materials are owned by Smarter Foundry LLC and protected by intellectual property law. Smarter Foundry LLC claims no ownership rights in the invoices, estimates, customer information, business information, logos, or other content you enter, upload, or create using Invoice Tiger.

You are responsible for the content you enter or upload, and for having any rights or permissions necessary to use the names, logos, images, or other material you put on a document.

The app, this website, and the web invoice generator are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that they will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that calculated totals, tax treatment, or generated documents will be suitable for every situation. You should review each document before sending it or relying on it.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Smarter Foundry LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, or lost or corrupted data, arising from or relating to your use of Invoice Tiger — including the app, this website, the web invoice generator, or the documents produced with them. Our total liability for any claim relating to Invoice Tiger will not exceed the greater of $50 or the amount you paid for Invoice Tiger subscriptions during the twelve months before the claim arose.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

You may stop using Invoice Tiger at any time: the app by deleting it, and this website or the generator by leaving the site. There is no account to close. We may suspend or end your right to use Invoice Tiger if you materially breach these terms. The disclaimer, limitation of liability, and governing law sections survive termination.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will provide additional notice where appropriate or required by law.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
